Subject-wise caps and penalties
- Chemical: attempt 15/35/25 from A/B/C, 25 percent negative in all parts.
- Earth: 15/35/25, 25 percent negative A/B, 33 percent C.
- Life Sciences and Bio-Technology: 15/35/25, 25 percent negative in all parts.
- Mathematical: 15/25/20, 25 percent negative A/B, no negative C. Part C can have multiple correct options and requires all correct choices.
- Physical: 15/20/20, 25 percent negative in all parts.
What each part tests
Part A covers general aptitude: logical, graphical, analytical, numerical reasoning, quantitative comparison, series and puzzles. Part B is conventional subject MCQs. Part C tests analytical application of scientific concepts. Use the bulletin and its official subject syllabus links.
