SSC Phase 14 Syllabus 2026 uses three separate CBE levels based on the post's essential educational qualification: Matriculation, Higher Secondary and Graduation/above. Match the post level, not your highest degree alone. This guide uses sections 15.1-15.9 of the official Phase-XIV/2026 notice.

Four subjects and sectional clocks

General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English each have 25 questions for 50 marks. Total 100 questions, 200 marks, 60 minutes. The notice specifies 15 minutes per part, not one freely shared hour. Eligible scribe candidates under notice paragraphs 9.1-9.3 get 80 minutes with 20 minutes per part. Negative marking is 0.50 for each wrong answer. Multiple-shift marks use the notified normalization procedure.

Matriculation level

General Intelligence emphasizes non-verbal reasoning, similarities/differences, space visualization, figure classification and number/non-verbal series. Awareness covers current events, India and neighbouring countries, history/culture/geography, sports, economy, polity/constitution and science. Quantitative topics include numbers, decimals/fractions, percentage, ratio, averages, interest, profit/loss, discount, tables/graphs, mensuration, time/distance/work. English covers basic vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms/antonyms and writing ability.

Higher Secondary level

Reasoning includes verbal/non-verbal analogies, classification, Venn diagrams, folding/completion, coding, series and critical thinking. Quantitative topics add algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistical charts and mensuration to arithmetic. English includes errors, blanks, spelling, idioms, one-word substitution, sentence improvement, active/passive, direct/indirect speech, rearrangement, cloze and comprehension. Awareness follows the notice's current-event and general subjects.

Graduation and above

Reasoning includes verbal/non-verbal problems, coding, syllogisms, statement conclusions, indexing/address/date matching and analytical tasks. Quantitative topics include arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistical charts. The notice specifically says Parts A, B and D match Graduate essential qualification level, while Quantitative Part C is of 10th standard. Do not claim every subject is graduate-level maths. English tests understanding, comprehension and writing ability.

Language and skill tests

CBE is Hindi/English only, with medium chosen in the application. Responses are recorded in the selected language. Typing/data-entry/computer-proficiency tests, where the post requires them, are qualifying unless post details/addendum say otherwise. This syllabus guide does not reopen the application window.
