Selection Process and Exam Pattern

UPSC may shortlist using desirable/higher qualifications, relevant experience or a Recruitment Test. Minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview. The notice describes interview selection and Recruitment Test followed by interview where UPSC uses that route.

The interview is out of 100 marks. The stated minimum suitability is UR 50, OBC 45 and SC/ST/PwBD 40. Where a Recruitment Test precedes the interview, UPSC decides the test suitability level case by case. Read any later vacancy-specific test notice for the actual paper format.

Syllabus Status for These Vacancies

No single common chapter-wise syllabus or fixed Recruitment Test paper is supplied for all seven vacancy entries in this advertisement. This is specialist recruitment, not a common UPSC CSE syllabus. If UPSC announces a test for a vacancy, use that vacancy's official syllabus and test notice.

  • Medical posts: review the selected specialty and the teaching/clinical duties in the vacancy entry.
  • Assistant Editor: review the required journalism, editing and publishing knowledge and duties.
  • Legal posts: review the law, bar-practice and prosecution/legal-advice duties for the selected role.

These are role-based preparation pointers, not an asserted official exam topic list. Follow UPSC Recruitment Notices and Test Schedules for the exam-specific syllabus if issued.
