Selection Process
MECL screens eligibility and may shortlist on academic credentials, relevant experience and expertise. Selection then comprises a written test, document verification and qualifying skill/trade test. The notification states that tests will be conducted at Nagpur.
The written competitive examination has 100% selection weightage; the skill/trade test is qualifying. The stated written-test category cut-offs are 50% for UR/OBC-NCL/EWS and 45% for SC/ST; PwD uses the notified relaxed standard. Document verification is ordinarily up to seven candidates per vacancy, depending on the available pool and approved rules.
Syllabus and Test-Pattern Status
The examined recruitment advertisement does not give a complete chapter-wise written-test syllabus, question count, duration or negative-marking rule. Do not assume the format of an older MECL recruitment applies to this notice. Use any later syllabus, test notice or call-letter instructions issued by MECL.
Table I lists role-specific proficiency and duties. These provide preparation context, not a claimed official exam syllabus: accounting candidates can review the notified accounts/computer/SAP proficiency; drilling and mechanical candidates can review the listed rig operation, maintenance, tools and safety knowledge; Junior Driver candidates can review the listed vehicle maintenance and minor-repair knowledge; Stenographer candidates must meet the stated English shorthand condition.
