Indian Oil Corporation Limited has notified 58 tentative trade and technician apprenticeship seats at Bongaigaon Refinery under Advertisement BGR/Appr/2026/04 dated 28 September 2026. Seats are tentative. Category split: code 101 UR17/EWS4/SC3/ST1/OBC-NCL11; code 103 UR6/EWS1/SC1/ST2/OBC-NCL4; code 107 UR3/EWS1/SC1/ST1/OBC-NCL2. The table reports zero PwBD seats; the notice allows eligible PwBD applicants only against identified code 107 disciplines under its conditions.
Eligibility and Important Exclusions
- Regular full-time specified qualification, minimum 50% aggregate. 45% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants against reserved seats. Results must already be declared by 30 September 2026. Equivalent or other branches are not accepted.
- Part-time, correspondence and distance qualifications are not eligible. Higher professional qualifications such as BE/B.Tech, MBA, CA, LLB and MCA, or equivalent completed by joining, are excluded under the notice.
- Applicants who completed five years after the required qualification by the cut-off are ineligible. Engineering graduate/diploma/vocational certificate holders with at least one year post-qualification job experience are ineligible.
- First-time apprentices receive preference. Second-time training is allowed only in a different trade/discipline subject to prior-training gap and termination conditions in the notice. Read all of clause A before applying.
- Apply for one trade only. Multiple-trade applications are rejected.
Age Limit
General/EWS: 18-24 years on 30 September 2026. SC/ST relaxation up to 5 years and OBC-NCL up to 3 years against reserved positions. PwBD relaxation up to 10 years, with additional category relaxation as permitted. Matriculation certificate is the accepted age proof.
Selection and Official Syllabus Status
No written test. Merit is based on aggregate percentage in the prescribed qualification, subject to eligibility, first-time apprentice preference, document verification and medical fitness. On a tie, the older candidate is ranked first; if date of birth also matches, higher matriculation percentage is used.
There is no written-exam syllabus for this recruitment because the official notice expressly provides no written test. Do not prepare from an invented exam pattern.
Stipend, Fees and Employment Status
Stipend follows the Apprentices Act/Rules and IOCL guidelines; this notice does not give a single fixed monthly amount. No company accommodation or HRA is provided. There is no obligation to offer a job after training and no right to employment from completing apprenticeship.
The official advertisement does not state an application-fee amount. Follow the employer-linked portals and do not pay anyone promising a seat.
How to Apply - Both Steps Required

- Check qualification, percentage, category and registration details in your portal profile before applying.
- Step 2: fill the current additional Microsoft form linked from IOCL. Use the same email and mobile as NAPS/NATS, and matching registration and application details. Submit one response only.
- Complete both steps by 18 October 2026, 17:00 IST. Applying on only one portal/form, or mismatched details, makes the application invalid. Save acknowledgements.
