The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong has announced the Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 for 354 Group C posts: 219 Rifleman, 129 Warrant Officer and 6 Havildar, across 17 trades. Men only.

Eligibility
- Male Indian citizens with a valid domicile or PRC for the State/UT chosen in the application. The State cannot be changed later.
- Age 18 to 23 or 18 to 25 years depending on the trade, and 18 to 28 years for WO (Physiotherapist), as on 1 July 2026, with relaxation as per the notice.
- Qualification depends on the trade: Matriculation, 12th, ITI, Diploma or degree. For example, WO (Cipher) needs 12th with PCM and English plus a two-year ITI or a degree in Electronics/ICT; WO (Draughtsman) needs 12th and a three-year Diploma in Architectural Assistantship; most Rifleman technical trades need Matriculation plus a two-year ITI or Diploma.

Application Fee
- Rs 100 for UR, OBC and EWS candidates, paid online or as per the notice instructions.
- SC, ST and ex-servicemen candidates pay no fee, as reported from the notice.
- Pay and allowances are as per Assam Rifles rules; the notice gives no pay figure.
- Only one application per candidate is accepted.
Selection Process
- RFID based Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), to be held at Jorhat or Diphu in Assam. Reporting dates will be informed later.
- PET for men: 5 km run in 24 minutes everywhere except Ladakh. Ladakh male candidates: 1.6 km in 7 minutes.
- Document verification.
- Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 marks. Minimum pass marks are 35% for General/EWS and 33% for SC, ST and OBC.
- Trade Skill Test (computer test and practical skill test). No marks are given for it; it is qualifying.
- Detailed Medical Examination, then the final merit list. Merely qualifying in all tests does not guarantee selection.
- 10% of Warrant Officer (Cipher) vacancies are reserved for ex-servicemen.
