Qualification by Level
- Classes 1 to 5: CTET Paper I or BTET Paper I with a D.El.Ed route as given in the notice. B.Ed alone is not the route for Classes 1 to 5.
- Classes 6 to 8: CTET Paper II or BTET Paper II with the qualification route in the notice.
- Classes 9 to 10: graduation (50% as per notice) in the subject with B.Ed and STET Paper I.
- Classes 11 to 12: postgraduation (50% as per notice) in the subject with B.Ed and STET Paper II.
- Candidates appearing in STET-2026 can apply conditionally, but must pass STET before the written exam.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years for Classes 1 to 8 and 21 years for Classes 9 to 12, as on 1 August 2026.
- Maximum age (cut-off date 1 August 2024): UR male 37 years; BC/EBC 40 years; UR female 40 years; transgender 42 years; SC/ST 42 years. Persons with disability get 10 extra years.
Application Fee
- Exam fee: Rs 100 per candidate, plus bank charges.
- Biometric fee: Rs 200 extra if you do not use Aadhaar as ID.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
- One objective paper: 150 questions, 150 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Language section of 30 marks is qualifying (30% needed). The rest is General Studies and the subject.
- Negative marking: one third mark for each wrong answer.
- No interview. Then document verification and medical examination.
How to Apply
- Open the BPSC website (bpsc.bihar.gov.in) and complete One Time Registration (OTR). Name, parents' names, gender, Aadhaar details and date of birth cannot be changed after OTR.
- Log in and select TRE-4.0 under Advertisement No. 15/2026.
- Fill in the details and upload photo, signature, certificates (and CTET/BTET/STET certificate) in the asked format.
- Pay the fee online and submit the form. Keep a printout.
- Applications by post, courier or counter are not accepted.
